의료붕괴 대책은? 우리나라 의료를 지속가능하게 하려면?

[메디게이트뉴스] 의료재앙이 일어난 발화지점은 전공의들이였다. 작년 2월 의대증원을 계기로 촉발된 전공의 사직, 학생 휴학, 의료붕괴, 윤석열정권의 계엄선포와 탄핵, 정권교체, 의대증원 철회, 그 후 올 9월 학생들과 전공의들이 복귀하면서 사태가 일단락 되는 듯 보인다. 그런데 달라진 것은 없고 상황이 더 오히려 더 나빠지고 있다. 한가지 확실한 것은 대한민국 의료는 2024년 2월 이전으로 절대로 돌아가지 못한다는 사실, 그리고 큰 희생을 치른 젊은 의사, 학생, 전공의들이 의료계의 암울한 현실에 눈을 뜨게 됐다는 것이다. 결국 이 사태로 인하여 국민, 의사, 특히 전공의와 학생들 모두가 루저가 됐다. 정치인들은 오로지 자신들의 기득권 지키기에만 몰두하며 의료계의 근본적인 문제는 그대로 두고 지엽적인 문제들만 건드리고 있다. 이들은 반성은커녕 하루가 멀다 하고 필수의료, 지역의료를 말살시키고 응급실 뺑뺑이를 더욱 악화시키는 최악의 법안들을 쏟아내고 있다. 국민은 병에 걸릴 경우 제 2025.11.11

대한의사협회의 ‘소통 장애’ 극복 방안

[메디게이트뉴스] 올해 1월 직전 회장의 탄핵으로 잔여 임기를 받아 출범한 제43대 대한의사협회 집행부는 역대 집행부가 그래왔듯이 이번에도 임시대의원총회를 피할 수 없게 됐다. 의사에게 불리하고 위협적인 정책이 남발되는 현 상황에서 대한의사협회는 잠시라도 정부, 국회와 긴장의 관계를 늦출 수 없어 보인다. 의협 대의원회 임시총회는 통상 비상대책위원회 구성이나 탄핵의 주제를 주요 안건으로 다뤄왔다. 상임이사회가 주축이 된 의협 집행부의 현안에 대한 대응조치에 대한 불안감은 임시 대의원 총회를 소집해 그동안 집행부의 대처방안에 대한 구체적 전략과 실행 방안 등을 점검하고 확인해 이에 상응하는 대응책을 모색하려는 기회로 해석된다. 현재의 대한의사협회 구조에서 의료 현안에 대한 대처와 협회 차원의 직무수행에 대한 중요한 결정은 상임이사회인 집행부의 몫이다. 집행부와 시도의사회 회장, 그리고 대의원 운영위원회는 공식적으로 각기 통상 월 1회 정도 집행부 현안 보고를 통한 다소 제한된 범위에서 2025.10.23
