Medytox signs botulinum toxin distribution agreement worth USD 73 million with Blau Farmacêutica, from Brazil

타이완 의학교육의 미래와 의학교육개혁 연토회 참관기

[메디게이트뉴스] 타이완의 Koo Foundation Sun Yat Sen Cancer Center(和信醫院)는 2024년 2월 타이완에서 암 환자의 생존율과 환자 만족도가 가장 높은 국제적인 의료기관으로 공식 인정받았다. 대만 보건부의 후원으로 대만 국립대 보건대학원이 수행한 환자 입원 경험 조사에 대한 연구로서 대만의 의료센터, 지역병원, 지구병원을 모두 포함한 다양한 형태의 병원에 대한 환자 만족도를 객관적으로 평가한 결과다. 암병원 설립 후 10여 년이 지나 이 병원의 경영에 관한 자세한 분석이 지난 2009년 하버드 경영대학에서 출간된 바 있다. 우리에게 ‘가치 기반 의료’로 잘 알려진 마이클 포터(Michael Porter)가 저자이고, 당시 상대적으로 역사가 짧은 병원이 유방암 치료에서 통합팀 접근 방식의 모델로 타이완은 물론 국제적으로 인정받는 암센터로 어떻게 도약했는지를 상세히 기술돼 있다. 병원 설립자 황달부(黃達夫) 교수는 타이완 국립의대 출신으로 일찍이 미국으로 2025.04.01

단일대오는 회의로 만들어지지 않는다

[메디게이트뉴스] 노조의 투쟁 기록을 살펴보면 공통적으로 반복되는 장면이 있다. 구성원들이 한 공간에 모여 숙식을 함께하며 결속을 다지는 장면이다. 파업이 지속되는 동안 사업장 인근에 숙소를 마련하고, 동료들과 24시간을 함께하며 조직력을 강화했던 사례는 수없이 많다. 의료계에도 비슷한 사례가 있었다. 널리 알려지진 않았지만, 일부 의국에서 처우개선을 요구한 레지던트들이 파업하며 숙소를 마련하고 합숙한 사례다. 겉으로는 마치 MT처럼 보일 수 있지만, 모두가 함께하고 단합 중이라는 사실이 확인이 되어야만 단결이 지속될 수 있기 때문이다. 단일대오는 회의로 유지되는 게 아니다. 물리적으로 함께 해야만 가능하다. 지금 의대생들의 투쟁은 물리적·심리적으로 크게 흔들리는 상태다. '미등록·휴학'이라는 1차 방어선이 무너지고, 수업거부라는 2차 방어선이 이어지고 있지만, 외부에서는 그 실체가 잘 드러나지 않는다. 언론 보도는 "복귀 수순", "의대협에 '어쩌란거냐'는 학생들" 같은 표현으로 2025.04.01

공보의 단체행동시 복무기간 5배 연장? 일년 내내 정부 마음대로 편법 공화국 언제까지

[메디게이트뉴스] 보건복지부가 공중보건의사(공보의) 후보생들의 현역 전환을 막기 위해 편법에 편법을 더하고 있다. 훈련소에 입소해 훈련 중인 공보의 후보생들이 공보의 대신 현역병으로 이탈하려는 움직임이 확대되면서부터다. ‘농어촌 등 보건의료를 위한 특별조치법’에 따르면 공보의가 정당한 이유 없이 직무교육에 응하지 않으면 병역법에 따라 공보의 편입이 취소되고 현역병으로 입영해야 한다. 지난해 공보의 배치 예정자가 직무교육 불참 규정을 이용해 현역병으로 전환한 선례가 5건이 있다. 올해 공보의 대상자들은 직무교육을 거부하면 현역으로 입영했다. 26일 보건복지부 건강정책과 담당자는 지난달 공보의로 선발돼 현재 3주간 기초군사훈련을 받고 있는 훈련병 248명을 대상으로 희망 배치 지역을 파악하기 위해 전날 논산훈련소를 찾았다. 하지만 훈련병 전원이 조사를 거부하면서 무산됐다. 통상 훈련 종료 후 직무교육 과정에서 이뤄지는 희망지 조사 절차가 훈련소에서 갑자기 추진되는 것을 두고 내부 반발이 2025.03.30
